FAQs

What kind of music do you play?

That will depend mostly on your event! I can get your dance floor moving with everything from country, rock, and jazz to all the billboard hits from the past 70 years. I suggest my clients submit a “must play” list of around 10-20 songs and make sure the genres explored are right for you and your guests.

Do you do outdoor events?

Yes absolutely! I do require some kind of protection from the elements. Usually an outdoor tent or awning will do just fine.

How much time do you need to setup?

Generally two hours to setup, and around an hour to tear down. This depends a lot on the venue.

Will you DJ in Red Deer, Banff, Jasper, or other towns?

Yes absolutely! I can DJ anywhere you need me, but I do charge a travel fee for anywhere outside of Calgary.

Do you take requests?

Of course! Unless of course you’d prefer I didn’t. I can also only take requests that fit whichever restrictions you wish for your event. It’s really up to you!

Do you bring backup equipment?

I do. I bring a backup of each piece of gear so in the unlikely event that a piece of equipment fails, your event will proceed as planned.

Why should I choose Rhythm and Harmony Entertainment?

Would you be comfortable hiring a DJ if it was only their first or second time DJing? Many entertainment companies in Alberta employ a team of rotating DJ’s for their events that range in experience and ability. Why take a chance? With Rhythm and Harmony Entertainment you’re guaranteed a DJ that’s qualified.

How many songs do you have?

I’ve been collecting music in all sorts of mediums for twenty years. These days everything has been converted to digital form with over 70,000 songs at my disposal. If your venue has internet access, I can easily play any song that’s legally available online. Clients can also supply their own music, though I do ask that this be submitted at least two weeks before your event.

What kind of bands have you done live sound for?

As the resident sound engineer for a number of music venues I’ve had the fortune to work with an extremely large range of music. Country, hip-hop, rock, metal, punk, folk and jazz are all genres I feel comfortable mixing live sound for.
